Meridian yards tend to be newer, larger and squarer than what we work with inside Boise, and that shows up in what people ask us for. White and tan vinyl privacy fence is the most common request in the subdivisions off Ten Mile, Linder and Eagle Road. It goes in fast on a clean line, it does not need staining, and it looks the same in year ten as it did in year one.
Horizontal cedar with black steel posts runs a close second on the newer builds. Lots that back to a canal or fall away toward a drain ditch are the exception to all of it. Those get rackable iron panels that follow the grade in one continuous line rather than stepping down it in blocks, which looks better from the house and leaves no gap under the bottom rail for a dog to find.

About your HOA
Most of the newer Meridian subdivisions say something in the CC&Rs about fence height, material or color, and a few specify which side of the property line the posts sit on. We can build to whatever the spec says, but the approval is between you and your HOA. Tell us at the estimate and we will write the material, height and style on the bid in a form you can hand straight to the board.

Do I need HOA approval for a fence in Meridian?
In most of the newer subdivisions, yes. The CC&Rs usually set the height, the material and sometimes the color, and the board wants to see it before anything goes in the ground. We will put the exact material, height and style on your bid so you have something to submit, but the approval itself is between you and your HOA.
What does a vinyl fence cost in Meridian?
It comes down to total footage, how many gates you need, and whether an old fence has to come out first. Vinyl sits in the middle of our range, above dog eared cedar and below ornamental iron. How long does a fence installation take in Meridian?
Most Meridian yards go up in one to three days once the material is on site. Before that we call in a Digline locate, which Idaho requires and which takes a couple of business days. Gate fabrication and weather are the usual reasons a job runs longer, and we tell you up front if yours is one of them.
Can you fence a lot that backs to a canal?
Yes, and it is common work for us in Meridian. On ground that falls away we use rackable panels that follow the grade in one line instead of stepping down it, so there is no wedge shaped gap under the bottom rail. We will look at the drop at the estimate and tell you which way it should be built.
