The single most common thing we are called out to fix on Middleton acreage is an interior fence built like a perimeter fence. What kind of fence is safe for horses?
For the interior, where the animals actually are, no climb mesh, three rail or pole fence. Nothing sharp, and no opening wide enough for a hoof to go through and catch. Barbed wire belongs on a perimeter line, not inside a paddock.
Do you build both the interior and the perimeter fence?
Yes, and we build them differently on purpose. The interior has to be safe for the animal. The perimeter has to hold a property line and take weather and equipment. Using one spec for both is the most common problem we get called out to fix on acreage around Middleton.
Do you fence acreage as well as subdivision lots?
